Partnership with Ventura County Farm to School

In 2023, Ventura County Farm to School (VCF2S) was awarded the California Farm to Fork Grant, creating an incredible opportunity to strengthen our local food system. Through this grant, Farm Cart Organics partnered with VCF2S to bring fresh, local, and organically grown food from regional farmers directly into the hands of students across Ventura County.

VCF2S is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting children to the source of their food through nutrition education, classroom cooking demonstrations, and school garden programs. Together, we’re building a healthier, more resilient community—one meal, one garden, and one classroom at a time.

Our Collaboration in Action

  • Local Food for Local Kids – Through the Farm Cart Organics School Food Hub, schools across Ventura County can source seasonal produce directly from nearby organic and sustainable farms.

  • Hands-On Learning – VCF2S brings food education to life with classroom cooking demos, taste tests, and garden programs that teach kids where their food comes from.

  • Healthier Communities – With more than 50 school gardens and thousands of students reached, we’re helping children develop lifelong habits of healthy eating and environmental stewardship.

  • Supporting Local Farmers – Our partnership strengthens small and mid-scale farms by creating reliable markets through school meal programs and by educating the next generation of eaters and growers.

Together, we’re growing a future where healthy food, thriving farms, and inspired students are all part of the same story.
